PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER BASIC FOOT CARE TRAINING:
This is a non- invasive foot care course is designed to teach personal support workers (PSWs) working with the elderly, people with disabilities or those who are unable to provide proper routine foot care to themselves, how to assess and recognize foot related problems and communicate effectively with other members of the health team.
This course includes, foot assessment, data collection, factors affecting balancing, common foot problems, case studies, risk factors concerning the feet, common foot conditions, nail filing, foot massage, knowing and communicating with the health team, and infection control and safe practice. Any unusual findings or concern voiced by the client or observed. Basic assessment of the feet, work within their scope of practice, report to other member upon completion of this course, the PSW should be able to demonstrate the ability to do.
Purchasing the course provides access to the online course for one person until course completion; to a maximum of 90 days starting from the date of purchase. Successful completion/certificate requires a grade of 75% on the final exam.
You will be contacted by your instructor regarding a specific day for your clinical practice after successful completion of the online course.
